School Curriculum Curriculum Overview-

Our school follows the curriculum prescribed by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and NCERT, New Delhi as per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Academic Session: 1st April to 31st March

Structure of Curriculum (As per NEP 5+3+3+4)

  1. FOUNDATIONAL STAGE (5 Years):-

Balvatika / Pre-Primary (Age 5-6 yrs): Play-based learning, Literacy, Numeracy, Art, Rhymes, Storytelling, Health & Hygiene.Class I & II (Age 6-8 yrs): English, Bengali, Mathematics, Art Education, Health & Physical Education, Work Experience.

          B) PREPARATORY STAGE (3 Years) – Class III to V

Subjects: English, Bengali, Mathematics, Environmental Studies (EVS), Computer (from Class IV), Art Education, Physical Education, Work Education (Vocational Craft).

C) MIDDLE STAGE (3 Years) – Class VI to VIII

Subjects: English, Bengali, Hindi (3rd Language), Mathematics, Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology), Social Science (History/Geography/Civics), Computer Science / ICT, Art Education, Physical Education, Vocational Subject (Introduction to AI / Skill Module).

D) SECONDARY STAGE (4 Years) – Class IX to XII

Class IX & X (CBSE Secondary):

Language 1: English

Language 2: Bengali / Hindi /

Mathematics (Standard / Basic)

Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics)

Skill Subject (Optional): Retail

Internal Assessment: Periodic Tests, Notebook, Subject Enrichment, Portfolio.

Class XI & XII (CBSE Senior Secondary):

Science Stream: English Core/Bengali/ Physics, Chemistry/Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Physical Education.

Arts Stream: English Core/Bengali /History/ Political Science/Geography / Sociology / Psychology/Computer Science / Physical Education.

Skill Subjects: Retail/Agriculture

Evaluation System (CBSE Pattern)

  1. Foundational & Preparatory: No formal exam. Continuous assessment through observation, worksheets, activities.
  2. Class III to VIII: 2 Periodic Tests (10 marks) + Half Yearly (80 marks) + Yearly (80 marks) + Internal Assessment (20 marks).
  3. Class IX to XII: As per CBSE – Periodic Test + Notebook + Subject Enrichment + Portfolio (5+5+5+5=20 marks) + Annual Board Exam (80 marks). For Class X & XII – CBSE Board Examination.
  4. Promotion Policy: As per CBSE Promotion Rules – Minimum 33% in each subject. Value Education

School uniform

  1. Classes I to VII (BOYS): Blue Colour Half Pants with two side pockets and Sky colour shirt with single pocket on the left side.
  2. Classes I to VIII (GIRLS): Blue Colour and Sky colour skirt.
  3. Classes IX to XII (BOYS): Blue Colour Full Pants with two side pockets and Sky colour shirt with single pocket on the left side.
  4. Classes IX to XII (GIRLS): Mixture of Blue & Sky Colour Churidar.
  5. Apron: White Coloured Apron is compulsory for Chemistry Lab works for the classes XI-XII students.
  6. School Identity Card is compulsory with proper signature of the Principal.

Rules &Regulations

  1. GENERAL DISCIPLINE
  2. Students must respect all teachers, non-teaching staff and fellow students.
  3. Students must be punctual and reach school by 09:40 AM. Morning assembly at 09:45 AM is compulsory.
  4. Students must speak in English inside the classroom and school campus to improve communication skills.
  5. Any damage to school property – building, furniture, lab, library books, smart class – will be recovered from the concerned student.
  6. Students must not bring valuable items, cash, ornaments to school. School is not responsible for any loss.
  7. Mobile phone, Smart Watch, Electronic Gadgets are strictly prohibited inside school campus for students as per Govt. circular.
  8. Use of abusive language, fighting, bullying is punishable offence.
  9. ATTENDANCE & LEAVE:-
  10. Minimum 75% attendance is compulsory for promotion as per CBSE rules. For Class IX-XII, 75% is mandatory for Board Exam.
  11. In case of absence, parents must send a written application to Class Teacher.
  12. For absence more than 3 days, Medical Certificate must be submitted.
  13. Long absence without information for 15 days will lead to name struck off from register. Re-admission fee may be charged.
  14. LIBRARY, LABORATORY & COMPUTER LAB RULES:-
  15. Library books will be issued for 7 days. Fine of Rs. 5 per day for late return.
  16. Lab activities must be done in presence of teacher only.
  17. Computer Lab – Internet browsing without permission is prohibited.
  18. PROHIBITED ITEMS & ACTIVITIES:-

Tobacco, Gutkha, Smoking, Alcohol, Crackers, Sharp instruments, Obscene literature, Holi colours are strictly banned in school premises. Violation will lead to suspension / TC.

  • PARENTS – SCHOOL CO-OPERATION:-
  • Parents must attend Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) held on last Saturday of every month.
  • Parents must check School Diary and Vidyajyoti App regularly.
  • Parents are not allowed to meet teachers during class hours. Visit office with prior permission.
  • For any grievance, contact Principal in office hours – 11 AM to 2 PM.
  • EXAMINATION RULES:-
  • Use of unfair means in exam will lead to zero marks and strict action.
  • No student will be allowed to enter examination hall 15 minutes after commencement.
  • MID-DAY MEAL & OTHER SCHEMES:-
  • Students of Class Balvatika to VIII must maintain discipline in Mid-Day Meal. Wastage of food is punishable.Violation of Rules will lead to:
  • First Warning > Written Warning to Parents > Suspension > Transfer Certificate (TC) as per decision of Disciplinary Committee headed by Principal.
