A. History:
Established in 1952, Surjyamaninagar H.S. School is one of the oldest schools in Dukli area, West Tripura. For more than 70 years, the school served as a Bengali Medium Govt. School under TBSE and produced more than 60 batches of Madhyamik and H.S. pass-outs who are now serving in various fields across the state and country.
In 2021, the Govt. of Tripura selected 125 schools to be transformed into Vidyajyoti Schools with CBSE affiliation to provide quality education at par with private schools. Surjyamaninagar H.S. School was proudly selected as one of them. With the implementation of National Education Policy 2020, NCERT Curriculum, NIPUN Tripura, and Mission Vidyajyoti, the school witnessed a robust change. The historic moment came on 31st December 2023, when Hon’ble CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the newly constructed modern school building under Vidyajyoti Scheme. As per Vidyajyoti performance, pass percentage increased from 86% in 2024 to 92% in 2025 at Madhyamik level.Today, the school stands as a Model of Holistic Transformation in government education in Tripura.
