The admissions process begins with parents taking an admission form. These form must be completed and submitted to the school before a certain stipulated date. As the school starts receiving completed forms, and publish the selected list of students.
The students seeking admission to the schools from any
part of the state, shall be considered for admission if seats are available. When the number of applicants are more than the number of vacant seats, the admission of children will be done by draw of lottery at entry level, i.e. in Nursery and from Class I and up to V for any interim vacancies. For classes above VI there will be screening test for new students and for interim vacancies, twice in a year. The entrance exam will be held by the schools using question papers which will be prepared centrally by the Directorate of Secondary Education
ADMISSION PROCESS
1. Issue of Form:
Admission Forms are issued FREE OF COST from the School Office from 1st week of December every year. Forms can also be downloaded from the District Education Office website.
2. Submission:
Duly filled form along with self-attested documents must be submitted to the Admission Committee within the last date notified by DEO, West.
3. Scrutiny:
The Admission Committee scrutinizes all forms as per age criteria (6+ for Class-I as on 31st March) and catchment area priority.
4. Selection Method:
For Balvatika to Class-V: Through Lottery System conducted openly in presence of SMC Chairman, Parents and DEO representative. Lottery date is notified on notice board 7 days in advance.
For Class-VI to VIII: On the basis of vacancy and Transfer Certificate.
For Class-IX: Entrance Test of 50 marks (Bengali, English, Maths) + Previous class result.
For Class-XI: On Merit basis of Madhyamik / CBSE Class-X result.
5. Publication of List:
Selected and waiting list is published on School Notice Board and School Website: sjnhss.vidyajyotischools.co
6. Admission Confirmation:
Parents of selected students must appear with original documents for verification within 3 days. After verification, name is entered in Admission Register.
7. No Capitation Fee:
Being a Government Model School, NO FEES / NO DONATION is taken for admission at any level. Mid-day Meal, Free Text Book, Free Uniform, Scholarships are provided as per Govt. schemes.
